Art is so much more than the end product. It is a journey. It becomes a way of seeing, of experiencing life. It can become a way of sharing the experienced moment or person or place. That is what I love to do and why I draw and paint.

Ever since I took a sewing class in high school I wanted to do creative kinds of things—sewing, crafting, scherenschnitte (paper cutting designs). But something puzzled me—how in the world do you make your own designs?! I found out (and I am still learning) when I took fine art courses at a community college.

Being a member of Open Door Gallery has been one of my most enriching experiences—working with other artists, being inspired by them and encouraged, planning and executing a variety of interesting, fun educational endeavors for the people of the community.
